What is the most precious resource that everyone has in equal proportion? Is your immediate response is TIME? Well then, we agree with many many others who share this view.
Everyone has 24 hours in a day and 365 days in a year. It is something that is equal for all. It is one thing that no one has a strategic advantage over others. How we spend our time which is therefore a super critical resource is what influences our future very significantly.
Within the circumstances that you are in, the way you use the time can is the best weapon to win against odds and achieve your life goals. We all consciously or sub-consciously make decisions that determine how our time is spent.
How we spend our time can be broadly classified into the following categories:
- Formal Study or Work (e.g. job, professional work, business, formal studies)
- Personal tasks (e.g. personal finance, cooking, shopping, maintenance, pet care, prayers)
- Personal or Professional development (e.g. learning, networking, volunteering for social work)
- Personal Interests (e.g., hobbies, general reading, )
- Family and Relationships (e.g., spending time with family, friends)
- Play and Leisure (e.g. social media, gaming, watching TV)
- Wellness (e.g., walking, jogging, workouts)
- Routine life activities (e.g. sleeping, hygiene)

Given so many categories and type of activities possible within each, managing time is just not easy. Rather it is easy to fall into a routine and get stuck.
The key question therefore to you must ask yourself RIGHT NOW is, “Are you utilizing your TIME optimally?
Are you satisfied with how you are using your time?
If the answer to the above questions is “Yes” you must stop reading this article. I appreciate your interest in reading until here.

On the other hand, if the answer is “No” it is understood that you want to achieve more. You have the desire to be more efficient and productive. That is possible. Yes, everyone can learn how to manage their time better.
Time available is fixed. However how one decides to use it is not. That is what separates one individual from another. You may have heard the use of phrase term “create time”. Yes, it is possible to create time. That is by changing how you set your priorities, how you plan, what you pay attention to and therefore become more productive and move faster towards your life goals. It needs conscious effort and forming of good habits. Given that you have already expressed the desire to do that, I plan to share a number of resources to help you bring that change.
These will be in the form of articles I plan to author, videos and other fantastic resources that certain other experts worldwide have published.
One thing common amongst winners, achievers in a variety of domains is how they manage their time. The most powerful tool that they use for the purpose is “ATTENTION”.
If you can decide and control what you pay attention to and how much, you will get into the drivers seat for managing time. My next article will elaborate on “ATTENTION”.
On the other hand, anything that takes away your time and yields nothing significant in terms of value must be recognized as “DISTRACTION”.

You cannot start managing “Attention” before managing “Distraction”. Only when you are not distracted is when your mind is free to pay attention. Therefore the first step is to determine activities that must be classified as distraction and do something about them.
You will realise that this itself is “creating time”. Now if you use time more effectively by paying attention smartly, you will certainly become more productive. That smart move will be with establishing the value and priority of activities and tasks aligned with your life goals which is a more challenging task.
The fuel to drive this positive action is your “ENERGY”. Conserve and use your energy wisely.
To begin with, think about the distractions in your daily life and how you can reduce them!
